HR Performance Forum Overview – Day 1

It’s already happening, the HR Performance Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia started today. March 16th was the first day of the conference, inaugurated with an introductory and welcoming session hosted by Aurel Brudan, the Chief Executive Officer at The KPI Institute.

The first day materialized in a variety of keynote presentations facilitated by forward thinking experts, panel discussions and a roundtable session engaging both speakers and delegates in interactive discussions on a wide selection of HR performance related topics.

After the conference introduction, our speakers presented the most insightful approaches concerning employee performance and Mr. Aurel Brudan began by introducing the first keynote presentation, The DNA of performance appraisals where he touched upon subjects like developing an efficient employee performance system, increasing accountability and improving your decision making process.

Following this presentation, Mr. Anuar Rozhan, Chief Executive Officer at KPISOFT, Malaysia presented “Revolution cracking in performance management at global corporations” a session focused on the transition from performance appraisal to performance achievement, reaching a high-performance achievement level in your organization or using technology to automate your performance management system and encourage continuous feedback.

The next key-note session, “Sharpening Performance Management” encompassed subjects like driving business results, reshaping processes to gain objectivity and consistency for high performance or defining better ways to collect reliable performance data and recognize performance. All these subjects were explained by Mrs. Sandra Kosasih, Human Capital Managing Director at Sinar Mas Land, Indonesia.

Following the conference presentations, both speakers and delegates engaged in a Panel Discussion.  “Transforming performance management – Issues and solutions for employee performance engagement systems” gathered names like Boedi Santoso, Mihai Toma, Yos Rizal Setiawan or Rudy Afandi.

Following the panel discussion, Mr. Boedi Santoso, Director – Human Capital/ IT/Business & Process Excellence at Aerofood ACS, Indonesia gave our participants interesting, practical, expository insights in his presentation, “A practical approach to employee performance by aligning employee level KPIs to organizational strategy – Case study of Philips & Aerofood ACS”.

“Leadership buy-in: first objective in any successful engagement strategy” facilitated by Mrs. May-Lene Tan, Regional HR Business Partner SEA at Alstom Group, Singapore and “Key drivers for performance management to work” presented by Indra Prastomiyono, Director Group Governance and Organization Development at MNC Media, Indonesia were the presentations that closed the first conference day and introduced our participants to the Round table where we discussed the best practices in getting employees buy-in while achieving your objectives and how a good human resources strategy implementation can improve your overall performance.
